How much does a removalist cost?
A removalist generally charges per hour. For you to accurately estimate cost, you need to inventory the you are moving and how many rooms are involved.
You may also need to consider:
- Distance between places
- Weather, if it starts raining and we may have to work more slowly for safety reasons.
- Packaging, if the items are packaged in the correct way, it can save time and cost
- Quality of access, how easy it is to move the items in and out of the locations.
- Parking, if we don’t have a parking spot near the location – it can impact the time to complete the move.
How many removalists do I need to hire?
85% of all our jobs can be done by 2 people and a truck.
It is possible to add 1 more remonalist per truck or hire an extra truck with 1 or 2 more men
Adding an extra man has an extra cost but will reduce the time needed to complete the job.
Can I help to carry items with you?
This being said, our professional removalists are the only ones allowed to load the truck
When I should start planning and packaging the move?
Everyone is different – But we recommend planning as soon as possible with your removalist and start packing less used items 2 weeks before Moving-Day.
3 weeks advanced notice of Move-Day is a good timeframe for your removalist.
3 important tips for packing for the removalist
How you pack your boxes is very important.
When packing you might want to think about:
- The fragility of the items you are packing together and ensure you are protecting them to avoid items from breaking with the normal handling of the boxes.
- The boxes are going to be piled together into a truck so make sure you label your boxes.
- The boxes will be carried by humans. Try keeping the boxes within a weight that can be lifted by 2 trained professionals. This will make everything easier and faster.
